"Aging Gracefully"

"Aging Gracefully" was done specifically to reach a personal goal:  Enter Quilt National 2011.

This piece measures 59 x 41 and is a combination of fusible webbing, paint, watercolor pencils, luscious Susan Brooks hand dyes, felt and a microsuede upholstery remnant. It is deliciously tactile.

Lab Note:  Adhering yellow flowers drawn on silk organza onto a blue violet background with matte medium yields green flowers in the morning!

Lab Tip:  If you plan to use a wet medium to adhere, make sure to back a transparent fabric with a more opaque one to retain the colors you intended.
