My little quilt “7 Degree Experiment” has been juried into the 24th Annual Exhibition of Quilts and Fine Woodworking.
This piece is an original design, made with hand painted cotton that has been woven and fused. It includes 3D elements and bead embellishments.
The story behind this piece is that I painted the blue violet fabric on a 7 degree day and I wondered how it would turn out if I set it outside in the sunshine to dry. The result was a faint miniature crackling that subtly textures the colors in the fabric. Nice!
The Opening Reception for the Exhibition is Friday, September 25th, 4:30-6:30 at the Pioneers Museum in Colorado Springs. The show will run through early December. Come and enjoy the visual feast!
